NOTICE OF COMMISSION DECISION TO CARRY
APPLICANTS’ MOTION FOR SUMMARY DETERMINATION
WITH THE CASE

 RE: In Re the Application of GTE Corporation and Bell Atlantic Corporation, 
Docket No. UT-981367

TO ALL PARTIES:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Commission has decided to not rule separately on 
Applicants’ Motion for Summary Determination and will carry the motion with the 
case. This decision is taken to promote efficiency in our quasi-judicial 
process. 

Applicants filed their Supplemental Brief on New Authorities on August 2, 1999, 
and Staff responded on August 12, 1999.  In the meantime, the parties requested 
a modification to the procedural schedule.  The revised date for Applicants’ 
rebuttal testimony is August 26, 1999.  Simultaneous briefs now are scheduled 
for 
September 20, 1999.  October 4 -6, 1999, are reserved for oral proceedings, at 
the Commission’s discretion.  Considering the relatively short time remaining 
under this expedited schedule, it will be more efficient for the Commission to 
determine all aspects of this case, including the jurisdictional question, in a 
single order.
