Agenda Date: March 14, 2001 Item Number: 3A Docket: TC-010245 Company Name: Bremerton-Kitsap Airporter, Inc., C-903 Staff: Bob Colbo, Transportation Program Staff Recommendation: Suspend the fuel supplement tariff application of Bremerton-Kitsap Airporter, Inc., C-903, contained in Docket TC-010245. Discussion: On February 20, 2001, the above-named company filed proposed tariff revisions providing for Special Fuel Surcharge Supplement No. 11 naming increased one-way fares of $0.25 and round trip fares of $0.50. This company serves Sea-Tac Airport from points in Kitsap County and also Ft. Lewis and McCord Air Force Base. The proposed effective date per the LSN request accompanying the filing is March 20, 2001. This filing was made in accordance with the technical requirements called for by the staff in the fuel surcharge methodology distributed to the bus industry last year when fuel prices began their upward spike. It did not include an earnings test, but rather a comparison of January, 2000, base fuel price with the current, most recent price and the resulting anticipated increased fuel expenses. From information gathered in the general rate increase from Bremerton-Kitsap Airporter, Inc., in suspended Docket TC-001846, it appears that this company is able to absorb whatever reasonably anticipated increased fuel expenses it may experience now and into the future. It is therefore recommended that the Commission suspend the fuel surcharge tariff application of Bremerton-Kitsap Airporter, Inc., C-903, contained in Docket TC-010245.
