Burton Water received its last rate increase effective April 1994. Burton Water is located in central Vashon Island and serves approximately 410 customers. The Commission, March 25, 1998, entered a Complaint and Order Suspending Tariff Revisions pending an investigation concerning the changes and the reasonableness and justness thereof. On April 24, 1998, Burton Water filed a tariff revision at staff revised rates for approximately $4,668 (3.97%) of additional revenue per year. This filing is a tariff revision to change the company's rates to staff revised levels designated as: Ninth Revision of Sheet No. 21 Canceling Eight Revision of Sheet No. 21 Ninth Revision of Sheet No. 30 Canceling Eight Revision of Sheet No. 30 The tariff sheets bear an inserted effective date of May 25, 1998. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revision become effective May 1, 1998. FINDINGS 1. Burton Water Company, Inc., is a water utility company and as such is a public service company subject to the jurisdiction of the Commission. 2. It is not contrary to public interest that the Complaint and Order Suspending Tariff Revision in this docket be dismissed. 3. After careful examination of the tariff revision filed herein by Burton Water Company, Inc., April 24, 1998, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revision filed in the respondent's Tariff WN U-1, become effective May 1, 1998. O R D E R IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED: 1. The Complaint and Order Suspending Tariff Revisions in Docket UW-980229, dated March 25, 1998, be and the same is hereby dismissed. 2. That the revision filed herein is approved. 3. Grant the requested waiver of statutory notice dated April 24, 1998 (Docket UW-980596), be and the same shall become effective with Less Than Statutory Notice to become effective May 1, 1998.
