Docket UW-971765 Page 1 BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND ) TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION, ) ) Complainant, ) DOCKET UW-971765 ) vs. ) ) ORDER EFFECTING WITHDRAWAL OF GAMBLE BAY WATER, INC. ) TARIFF REVISIONS, DISMISSING ) COMPLAINT AND ORDER ) SUSPENDING TARIFF REVISIONS Respondent. ) AND CLOSING DOCKET . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ) On December 15, 1997, Gamble Bay Water, Inc., (Gamble Bay) filed Tariff Revisions with the Commission. The proposed tariff revisions were for a late payment charge and to add a surcharge for water testing. Gamble Bay is located on Bainbridge Island and serves approximately 244 customers located in Kitsap County on Bainbridge Island and near Poulsbo (190), and in King County near Fall City (54). Gamble Bay filed tariff revisions for a late payment charge to encourage customers to make their payments on time and to reduce their disconnect mailings. This filing would also increase monthly revenues to pay for additional water testing required by the Department of Health. The last general rate increase for this company was April 1993 and a capital recovery surcharge filed in June of 1993. It appearing that the filing herein would increase rates for water service rendered by respondent and that the rights and interest of the public might be injuriously effected thereby, the Commission, on January 14, 1998, entered a Complaint and Order Suspending the tariff revisions. The Commission is now in receipt of a letter dated April 6, 1998, by which Gamble Bay requests that the tariff revisions filed in this docket be withdrawn. From all indications, it appears to be in the public interest to grant the request and to concurrently dismiss the Complaint and Order Suspending tariff revisions, and close the docket. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the proposed tariff revisions, filed in this docket, dated December 15, 1997, shall be and the same are withdrawn, and that the Complaint and Order Suspending tariff revisions in this docket dated January 14, 1998, shall be and the same is hereby dismissed, and the docket number referenced herein is closed. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 22nd day of April, 1998. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION PAUL CURL, Acting Secretary
