The revisions consisted of Tariff No. 4 reflecting an increase in residential and commercial rates. At the Commission’s open public meeting of October 29, 1997, the Commission suspended the filing because the company had not demonstrated if the proposed rates were fair, just, reasonable, sufficient, and ordered an investigation to ensure the rights and interests of the public would not be injuriously affected. The Commission staff has now completed its investigation into the rates and charges contained in Docket TG-971408. The investigation established that the proposed rates and charges filed by the respondent for its garbage operations are not needed. However, with regard to its recycling operations, it shows a revenue requirements of $7,202. The respondent has accepted staff-recommended rate levels and filed substitute tariff pages to reflect said levels. At the open public meeting of April 22, 1998, staff recommended that the revised rates filed by the respondent for its recycling operations, should be allowed to become effective as permanent rates. Pursuant to review of the filing, testimony and staff recommendations, the Commission finds that the Complaint and Order suspending Docket TG-971408 should be dismissed and permanent rates be allowed to become effective at levels recommended by staff.
