TG-970491 ) ) SUPPLEMENTAL ORDER ) DISMISSING COMPLAINT, ) LIFTING SUSPENSION AND ) APPROVING RATES ) ) ) ) ) ) On March 14, 1997, Murrey’s Disposal Company, Inc., G-9, filed with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission revisions to its current tariff naming rates to become effective May 1, 1997. The revisions consisted of: Revised Tariff No. 14, reflecting an increase in residential and commercial rates. At the Commission's open public meeting of May 28, 1997, the Commission suspended the filing for investigation and hearing to ensure the rights and interests of the public would not be injuriously affected. The Commission also approved temporary rates at that time. The reason for temporary rates was based on negotiations for increased disposal fees and they had not been finalized. A tentative disposal fee of $75.75 per ton was agreed upon on in principal and implemented on a temporary basis. During the temporary rate period both Pierce County and LRI determined the final disposal rate. The $75.75 per ton rate was finalized. Therefore, the temporary rates reflect the finalized disposal fee and should be made permanent. The Commission staff has now completed its investigation and determined that the temporary rates and charges as filed are fair, just and reasonable. Pursuant to review of the filing, testimony and staff recommendations, the Commission finds that the Complaint and Order suspending Docket TG-970491 should be dismissed and the temporary rates be allowed to become permanent. O R D E R IT IS ORDERED That the Complaint and Order issued May 28, 1997, suspending Docket TG-970491 is hereby dismissed. IT IS ORDERED That the rates contained in Docket TG-970491 shall be authorized to become effective October 1, 1997, on a permanent basis. DATED and signed at Olympia, Washington, this day of September, 1997. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION STEVE McLELLAN, Secretary
