TG-000425 ) ) COMPLAINT AND ORDER ) SUSPENDING TARIFF ) FILING AND GRANTING ) TEMPORARY RATES ) ) BACKGROUND On March 21, 2000, Waste Management - Rainier, G-237, filed with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission revisions to its current tariff naming rates to become effective April 1, 2000, on less than statutory notice. The filed revisions consisted of: Naming residential and multi-family deferred recycling credits. The Commission suspended filing TG-000425 on March 29, 2000, to ensure the rights and interests of the public would not be injuriously affected. At the open public meeting of March 29, 2000, Staff testified that without temporary rate relief in effect during the suspension, customers would experience a rate increase. Staff recommended that temporary rates be allowed. Pursuant to review of the filing, testimony and Staff recommendations, the Commission finds that temporary rates shall be allowed. The temporary rates will remain in effect pending issuance of further Commission orders. O R D E R IT IS ORDERED That filing TG-000425 is hereby suspended. IT IS ORDERED That a hearing or hearings, on the Commission's own motion, be held at such times and places as may be required. IT IS ORDERED That the rates and charges sought to be amended by filing TG-000425 shall not be changed by a subsequent tariff or filing, until this suspension proceeding has been disposed of, or, until the period of suspension and any extension thereof has expired, unless authorized by special permission of the Commission. IT IS ORDERED That the respondent shall pay the expenses reasonably attributable and allocable to proceedings related to this order to the extent the requirement for such payment may be in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 81.20 RCW DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 29th day of March, 2000.
