DOCKET UE-980414 Page 1 BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested ) Waiver of Statutory Notice in ) DOCKET UE-980414 Connection with the Tariff ) Revisions Filed by ) ORDER GRANTING LESS PUGET SOUND ENERGY. ) THAN STATUTORY NOTICE ) On March 12, 1998, Puget Sound Energy filed with the Commission under its Advice No. 98014 revisions to its currently effective Tariff WN U-60, designated as First Revised Sheet No. 120-a - Electricity Conservation Service Rider (Continued) and First Revised Sheet No. 120-b - Electricity Conservation Service Rider (Continued). The tariff sheets bear an inserted effective date of April 12, 1998. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revisions become effective April 1, 1998. The purpose of this filing is to make revisions to Schedule 120 so that it is synchronized with changes made in Schedules 50, 51, and 52, which were filed on February 27, 1998, in Docket UE-980261, with an effective date of April 1, 1998. The reason for requesting LSN is to make the effective date coincident with the effective date of the tariffs included in Docket No. UE-980261. Since the tariff revisions filed herein are fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of April 1, 1998. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revisions filed herein by Puget Sound Energy, March 12, 1998, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revisions should become effective April 1, 1998. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revisions filed herein by Puget Sound Energy, March 12, 1998, is hereby granted, and said tariff revisions shall become effective April 1, 1998. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 25th day of March, 1998. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION ANNE LEVINSON, Chair RICHARD HEMSTAD, Commissioner WILLIAM R.
