BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested Waiver of Statutory Notice in Connection with the Contract Filed by Pattison Water Company, Inc. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) DOCKET UW-010893 ORDER GRANTING LESS THAN STATUTORY NOTICE AND APPROVING CONTRACT BACKGROUND 1 On June 19, 2001, Pattison Water Company, Inc., (Pattison Water or Company) filed a contract for approval. The contract is with Intercity Transit of Thurston County. Pattison Water serves approximately 925 customers near Lacey in Thurston County. 2 This contract is made to provide for the installation and payments of a larger than normal service connection. The developer will install the service connection at no cost to the water company and will pay a facilities charge for each of the five equivalent residential units (ERU) consumed by the larger than normal size meter. 3 The contract bears an effective date of July 20, 2001. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. Pattison Water requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the contract become effective June 28, 2001. Pattison Water is requesting LSN treatment of this contract due to funding time constraints on the part of Intercity Transit. 4 This matter was brought before the Commission at its regularly scheduled open meeting on June 27, 2001. The Commissioners, having been fully advised in the matter, and having determined the following order to be consistent with the public interest, directed the Secretary to enter the following order and related provisions. FINDINGS 5 1. Pattison Water Company, Inc., is an investor owned water company and is a public service company subject to the jurisdiction of the Commission. 6 2. After careful examination of the contract filed herein by Pattison Water Company, Inc., June 19, 2001, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the contract should become effective June 28, 2001. O R D E R 7 THE COMMISSION ORDERS: 8 1. That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the contract filed herein by Pattison Water Company, Inc., June 19, 2001, is hereby granted, and the contract shall become effective June 28, 2001. 9 2. This order shall in no way affect the authority of this Commission over rates, services, accounts, evaluations, estimates, or determination of cost or any matters whatsoever that may come before it, nor shall anything herein be construed as acquiescence in any estimate or determination of cost or any valuation of property claimed or asserted.
