		ORDER GRANTING WAIVER OF RULES

BACKGROUND
1          On October 20, 2000, Northwest Natural Gas Company, (NW Natural), 
filed a petition requesting waiver of  the requirement of Washington 
Administrative Code 480-90-031(5). This request is to waive the requirement  of 
filing a Semi-Annual Results of Operations Report of the twelve months ended 
June 30, 2000.         
2          Pursuant to WAC 480-90-031(5), NW Natural Gas is required to file 
its Semi-Annual Results of Operations  Report of the twelve months ended June 
30, 2000, before November 1, 2000. Due to the Company's just  completed general 
rate case, in Docket No. UG-000073, the Company requests waiver of WAC   
480-90-031(5). 
FINDINGS 
3          NW Natural is a public service company subject to the jurisdiction 
of this Commission under the provision of  Chapter 80.36 RCW.
4          It appears that the request for waiver of Commission rules by NW 
Natural is reasonable, and waiver of filing  Semi-Annual Results of Operations 
Report is not inconsistent with the public interest. It is deemed appropriate  
that the Company be granted the waiver.
5          This matter was brought before the Commission at its regularly 
scheduled open meeting on November 8,  2000. The Commissioners, having been 
fully advised in the matter, and having determined the following order  to be 
consistent with the public interest, directed the Secretary to enter the 
following order and related   provisions.
O R D E R 
6          THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver filed on 
October 20, 2000,  regarding the requirement of WAC 480-90-031(5) to file a 
Semi-Annual Results of Operations Report for the  twelve months ended June 30, 
2000, by Northwest Natural Gas Company d/b/a NW Natural, is hereby  granted.
