TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS:

The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (Commission) held its 
first household goods rulemaking public stakeholder meeting in the above 
mentioned rulemaking docket on January 29, 1998.  Approximately 50 interested 
persons attended the meeting.  I want to thank each of you for your attendance 
and comments.

The rulemaking team is now seeking additional written comments on the first 
discussion draft of the rules.  Comments received not later than February 27, 
1998, will be considered in the second discussion draft.  I anticipate the 
second discussion draft of rules will be mailed to interested persons not later 
than March 20, 1998.  The discussion draft will also be posted to the Internet 
at that time.  The Commission’s Internet address is:  www.wutc.wa.gov.

The Commission will hold a second stakeholder meeting on April 9, 1998.  The 
meeting will be held at the Commission’s headquarters in Room 206, tentatively 
from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.  The Commission’s address is 1300 South Evergreen Park 
Drive Southwest and free parking is available.
