  On September 19, 1998, Cascade Natural Gas Corporation (Cascade), filed a 
Special Contract with the Commission.  This contract, with Darigold, Inc., 
provides for gas transportation service.  The term of the contract is for seven 
years, and it will be effective October 15, 1998, upon Commission approval.


FINDINGS

  The Commission finds that the special contract filed with Darigold, Inc., by 
Cascade Natural Gas Corporation is in compliance with WAC 480-80-335.  The 
Commission finds that the special contract should become effective upon its 
approval.

  The Commission finds that the prudence of the rate obtained under this 
contract should be addressed if and when the utility proposes to shift lost 
revenue to other ratepayers at some future date as set forth in WAC 480-80-335.


ORDER

  THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That:

  1.  The special contract filed herein by Cascade Natural Gas Corporation 
shall become effective October 15, 1998, for a primary term of seven years from 
the date of regulatory approval, as specified in the contract.

  2.  This order does not address the prudency of the rate obtained under the 
contract.  That issue should be addressed, if at all, in accordance with the 
above Findings.
