TG-980524 ) ) ORDER REQUIRING ) CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION ) OF A RATE INCREASE DUE ) TO IMPLEMENTATION OF A TAX April 3, 1998, Points Distributors, Inc., filed a tariff revision to implement an increase in Whatcom County Excise Tax. On April 22, 1998, the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission approved a filing by Points Distributors, Inc. in Docket No. TG-980524. The company requested Commission authority to waive customer notice prior to approval of the filing by the Commission and instead allow the company to provide customer notice on or with the first customer billing containing the new tax amount. Pursuant to review of the filing, the Commission finds that the company’s request should be granted. O R D E R IT IS ORDERED That Points Distributors, Inc., shall be required to notify its customers that a Whatcom County excise tax in the amount of 4.1 percent has been imposed. Said notice to be issued prior to, on or with the first customer billing containing the tax. IT IS ORDERED That Points Distributors, Inc., shall, at the time notice is provided customers, file a copy of the notice with the Commission.
