BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION Regarding fees to be paid to the ) DOCKET TG-010060 Washington Utilities and Transportation ) Commission by solid waste collection ) ORDER MAINTAINING companies under the provisions of RCW ) REGULATORY FEES AT .3% 81.77.080 as amended by Section 3, ) chapter 143, Laws of 1971, 1st Ex. session. ) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ) BACKGROUND RCW 81.77.080 requires that every solid waste collection company operating in this state under jurisdiction of this Commission shall file a statement no later than May 1 of each year, showing its gross operating revenue from Washington intrastate operations for the proceeding calendar year, or portion thereof, and pay to the Commission a fee equal to one percent of such intrastate revenues. The percentage rate to be paid in any year may be decreased by the Commission by general order entered before March 1 of such year. In decreasing such rate the Commission is required to take into consideration all monies on hand in the public service revolving fund and fees currently to be paid into such fund, to the end that the fees collected shall be approximately the same as the reasonable cost of regulating solid waste collection companies. The 2001 regulatory fee is now before the Commission for consideration and the Commission, being fully advised, has considered all monies on hand and the fees currently to be paid and directed the Secretary to enter the following order and related provisions. O R D E R IT IS ORDERED That the fee to be paid to the Commission under the provisions of RCW 81.77.080 as amended by Section 3, chapter 143, Laws of 1971, 1st Ex. Session is fixed at three-tenths of one percent (.003) of the Washington intrastate gross operating revenue of such solid waste collection companies for the 2001 calendar year operations; PROVIDED, That the fee shall in no case be less than one dollar ($1.00).
