BACKGROUND

1.  On December 26, 2000, Cascade Natural Gas Corporation, (CNG) filed with the 
Commission under its Advice No. W00-12-02 revisions to its currently effective 
Tariff WN U-3, designated as sixty-sixth Revision Sheet No. 500, Municipal Tax 
Additions.

2.  The tariff sheet bears an inserted effective date of January 26, 2001.  
This date recognizes statutory notice as required.  The Company requests, 
however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revisions become 
effective January 1, 2001.

3.  The proposed revision implements a decrease in the municipal tax for the 
City of East Wenatchee to 0% from 6%.  Ordinance No. 2000-19 passed by the City 
of East Wenatchee institutes this decrease effective January 1, 2001.

4.  CNG wishes to implement the decrease as soon as possible coincident with 
the effective date of the ordinance.

5.  Since the tariff revision filed herein is fair, just and reasonable, and 
waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is 
deemed appropriate that CNG be granted the waiver it is requesting with an 
effective date of January 1, 2001.

FINDINGS

6.  After careful examination of the tariff revision filed herein by Cascade 
Natural Gas Corporation, December 26, 2000, and giving consideration to all 
relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff 
revision should become effective 
January 1, 2001.  This matter was brought before the Commission at its 
regularly scheduled open meeting on December 27, 2000.  The Commissioners, 
having been fully advised in the matter, and having determined the following 
order to be consistent with the public interest, direct the Secretary to enter 
the following order and related provisions.

 
O R D E R

7.  THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory 
notice in connection with the tariff revisions filed herein by Cascade Natural 
Gas Corporation, December 26, 2000, is hereby granted, and said tariff revision 
shall become effective January 1, 2001.

8.  DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 27th day of December, 2000.
