(Verizon) filed with the Commission under its Advice No. 958, a revision to its currently effective Tariff WN U-17, designated as follows: Section 2, 2nd Revised Sheet 3 4th Revised Sheets 109-111 3rd Revised Sheet 113 4th Revised Sheet 114 5th Revised Sheet 116 4th Revised Sheet 117 4th Revised Sheet 118 The revision reflects the removal of Frame Relay rates from Flexgrow Trunk Service from the tariff. Frame Relay Service will be offered by Verizon Advanced Data Inc., a separate affiliate formed to offer advanced services in compliance with merger conditions imposed by the FCC in connection with its approval of the merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE, now known as Verizon. The tariff sheet bears an inserted effective date of January 4, 2001. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The Company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revision become effective December 18, 2000. Verizon is requesting the earlier effective date to coincide with the effective date of the withdrawal of other advanced services from the Verizon tariff in connection with their transfer to Verizon Advanced Data Inc. Since the tariff revision filed herein is fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the Company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of December 18, 2000. This matter was brought before the Commission at its December 13, 2000, regularly scheduled open meeting. The Commissioners, having been fully advised in the matter, and having determined the following order to be consistent with the public interest, directed the Secretary to enter the following order and related provisions. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revision filed herein by Verizon Northwest Inc. on December 5, 2000, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revision should become effective on December 18, 2000. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revision filed herein by Verizon Northwest Inc. on December 5, 2000, is hereby granted, and said tariff revision shall become effective on December 18, 2000. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 13th day of December, 2000. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION CAROLE J. WASHBURN Secretary
