NOTICE OF REVISED SCHEDULE FOR FILING BRIEFS
(May 19, 2000: Initial Briefs; May 26, 2000: Reply Briefs)
RE:          In re Application of U S WEST, Inc. and Qwest Communications 
International, Inc., Docket No. UT-991358
TO PARTIES OF RECORD: 
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Commission has determined a continuance of the 
briefing schedule is required to allow additional time to consider:
1.         Staff's request that all documents filed by the Joint Applicants in 
response to Bench Request No. 2 be made exhibits;
2.         AT&T's objection to one of the documents filed by the Joint 
Applicants in response to Bench Request No. 2 being made a part of the record 
in this proceeding; 
3.          Assertions of confidentiality with regard to several of the 
documents filed by Joint Applicants in response to Bench Request No. 2, and 
Staff's argument that these documents are not entitled to confidential 
treatment; 
4.          What additional process, if any, may be required prior to the 
Commission's resolution of disputes concerning the Joint Applicants' response 
to Bench Request No. 2.
The Commission determines that a continuance of the scheduled deadline for 
Initial Briefs until Friday, May 19, 2000, is required. Reply Briefs then will 
be due by May 26, 2000. The Commission will determine and announce shortly, by 
further notice, whether a longer continuance and/or additional process is 
needed.
