BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of Tariff Revisions Reflecting Modifications to Schedule 91, Cogeneration and Small Power Production. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ) ) ) ) ) DOCKET UE-991932 ORDER GRANTING TARIFF MODIFICATIONS ON LESS THAN STATUTORY NOTICE BACKGROUND On December 10, 1999, Puget Sound Energy, Inc. (PSE) filed a proposed revision to Schedule 91, Sheet No. 91, Cogeneration and Small Power Production reflecting changes to quarterly purchase prices and the monthly basic charge. The filed Revised Sheets denote an effective date of January 1, 2000. PSE requests that statutory notice be waived and the Commission issue an order approving the revised schedule to become effective on this date, as there are customers who will benefit from these changes. Because of the positive impact this tariff revision will have on cogenerators and small power producers if it becomes effective the first day of the year 2000, PSE’s request for a waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest. Therefore the Commission shall grant the requested waiver and allow the tariff revisions to become effective on January 1, 2000. FINDINGS OF FACT 1. PSE is engaged in the business of furnishing electric and gas service within the state of Washington as a public service company, and is subject to the jurisdiction of the Commission. 2. After reviewing PSE’s December 10, 1999 filing, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the Company’s Schedule 91 revisions are in the public interest and should become effective January 1, 2000. ORDER THE COMMISSION ORDERS that Puget Sound Energy’s December 10, 1999 requested waiver of statutory notice regarding Schedule 91 revisions is granted and such revisions shall become effective on January 1, 2000. Dated at Olympia, Washington and effective this 29th day of December 1999. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION Carole J. Washburn Secretary
