BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested Waiver of Statutory Notice in Connection with the Tariff Revision Filed by United Telephone Company of the Northwest .................................................................. ) ) ) ) ) DOCKET UT-991434 ORDER GRANTING LESS THAN STATUTORY NOTICE On September 17, 1999, United Telephone Company of the Northwest filed with the Commission a revision to its currently effective Tariff WN U-2, Schedule AE-4, designated as: 14th Revised Sheet 3.1 cancels 13th Revised Sheet 3.1 The tariff sheet bears an inserted effective date of October 17, 1999. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revision become effective October 14, 1999. The purpose of the filing is to offer a promotion to customers. The reason for requesting LSN is to meet the company’s nationwide schedule for this promotion. Since the tariff revision filed herein is fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsis-tent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of October 14, 1999. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revision filed herein by United Telephone Company of the Northwest, September 17, 1999, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revision should become effective October 14, 1999. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revi-sion filed herein by United Telephone Company of the Northwest, September 17, 1999, is hereby granted, and said tariff revision shall become effective October 14, 1999.
