DOCKET UW-990467 Page 1 BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested ) Waiver of Statutory Notice in ) DOCKET UW-990467 Connection with the Tariff ) Revisions Filed by ) ORDER GRANTING LESS American Water Resources, Inc. ) THAN STATUTORY NOTICE ) On March 24, 1999, American Water Resources, Inc., filed with the Commission revisions to its currently effective Tariff WN U-1. The tariff sheets effected are designated as: First Revision of Sheet No. 15.5, canceling Original Sheet No. 15.5, First Revision of Sheet No. 15.6, canceling Original Sheet No. 15.6, Second Revision of Sheet No. 15.7, canceling First Revision Sheet No. 15.7, First Revision of Sheet No. 15.8, canceling Original Sheet No. 15.8, First Revision of Sheet No. 15.9, canceling Original Sheet No. 15.9, First Revision of Sheet No. 15.10, canceling Original Sheet No. 15.10, The tariff sheets bear an inserted effective date of May 1, 1999. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revisions become effective March 31, 1999, on less than statutory notice (LSN). The company states the LSN treatment request will not interfere with customers' rights for notice on these systems as there are presently no billed customers on any of these systems. This filing adds the Public Water System Identification Number to the service area page and reflects several purchases of new six customer water systems. The tariff revisions add the water systems to the service area of American Water Resources, Inc.'s tariff and places in effect the existing rates of American Water Resources, Inc. The water company is requesting LSN treatment to coincide with the beginning of their billing cycle to eliminate confusion for future filings that may be requested by the company. Since the tariff revisions filed herein appear fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of March 31, 1999. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revisions filed herein by American Water Resources, Inc., March 24, 1999, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revisions should become effective March 31, 1999. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revisions filed herein by American Water Resources, Inc., March 24, 1999, is hereby granted, and said tariff revisions shall become effective March 31, 1999. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 31st day of March, 1999. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION CAROLE J. WASHBURN Secretary
