BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested ) Waiver from Implementation ) DOCKET UT-981480 Schedule for Local Number ) Portability Requested by ) ORDER GRANTING Century Telephone ) EXCEPTION TO ) PUBLISHED SCHEDULE ...................................) On November 18, 1998, a representative of Century Telephone filed with Commission, a request for waiver from the Schedule of Implementation of Local Number Portability, for its North Bend wire center. The scheduled date of conversion was December 31, 1998. Century Telephone has requested an extension until February 28, 1999. The reason for asking for the waiver is a delay in a central office switch replacement. No other wire centers owned by Century Telephone will be affected. Since the request for waiver appears to be fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of the implementation schedule is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of December 24, 1998. FINDINGS After careful examination of the request for waiver of Implementation Schedule for Local Number Portability filed herein by Century Telephone on November 18, 1998, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the waiver should become effective December 24, 1998. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of Implementation Schedule in connection with Local Number Portability filed herein by Century Telephone on November 18, 1998, is hereby granted, and said waiver shall become effective December 24, 1998. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 23rd day of December, 1998. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION CAROLE J. WASHBURN, Secretary
