TG-981225 Companies d/b/a Kent-Meridian ) Disposal Co., G-60, for exemption ) ORDER GRANTING PETITION from WAC 480-70-350(3) ) ) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ) On September 22, 1998, Fiorito Enterprises Inc. and Rabanco Companies d/b/a Kent-Meridian Disposal Co., G-60, filed a petition with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission for exemption from WAC 480-70-350(3) which states: Each solid waste collection company must secure from the commission a copy of the “uniform system of accounts” applicable to its business and keep its accounts and other records in conformity therewith to the end that its records may be kept and the annual report required to be filed by it may be compiled in accordance therewith. The company represents that because of its recent merger/acquisition by Allied Waste Industries, it must now adopt new general ledger software and the attendant chart of accounts of its parent which are slightly different than the existing uniform system of accounts as prescribed by this Commission. It also represents that for Annual Report and rate case presentations, it will still be able to translate the accounting information from the new system into standard prescribed Commission format. FINDINGS THE COMMISSION FINDS: 1. Fiorito Enterprises Inc. and Rabanco Companies d/b/a Kent-Meridian Disposal Co., G-60 is a public service company subject to the jurisdiction of this Commission under the provisions of Chapter 81.77 RCW and subject to WAC 480-70-350(3). 2. The proposed exemption from WAC 480-70-350(3) will not be contrary to the public interest and should, therefore be approved. DOCKET NO. TG-981225 PAGE 2 ORDER THE COMMISSION ORDERS: The requested exemption of Fiorito Enterprises, Inc. and Rabanco Companies d/b/a Kent-Meridian Disposal Co., G-60 from WAC 480-70-350(3) is hereby approved, effective immediately.
