DOCKET UE-981054 Page 1 BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested ) Waiver of Statutory Notice in ) DOCKET UE-981054 Connection with the Tariff ) Revisions Filed by ) ORDER GRANTING LESS Puget Sound Energy ) THAN STATUTORY NOTICE ) On August 5, 1998, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) filed with the Commission under its Advice No. 98033 revisions to its currently effective Tariff WN U-60, designated as Fifth Revised Sheet No. 80-r, Schedule 80 . The tariff sheet bears an inserted effective date of September 5, 1998. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revisions become effective August 13, 1998. PSE proposes changes to its after hour reconnection procedures. This filing is a replacement for PSE’s recently withdrawn filing in Docket UE-980918. The refiling is identical to the original filing with the exception of a proposed limitation on after hour field collection of cash. Since the changes proposed in this filing were already a subject of a prior Commission docket, the company requests a waiver of the statutory notice, requesting that the tariff filing be allowed to become effective August 13, 1998. Commission Staff believes the tariff revisions filed herein are fair, just, and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest; it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of August 13, 1998. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revisions filed herein by PSE, on August 5, 1998, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revisions should become effective August 13, 1998. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revisions filed herein by Puget Sound Energy, on August 5, 1998, is hereby granted, and said tariff revisions shall become effective August 13, 1998. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 12th day of August, 1998. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION CAROLE J. WASHBURN, Secretary
