DOCKET UW-981035 Page 1 BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested ) Waiver of Statutory Notice in ) DOCKET UW-981035 Connection with the Contract ) Filed by ) ORDER GRANTING LESS Mirrormont Services, Inc. ) THAN STATUTORY NOTICE ) AND APPROVE CONTRACT On July 31, 1998, Mirrormont Services, Inc., filed with the Commission a contract with Tiger Mountain Ranchettes Homeowners Association (TMRHA) effective August 30, 1998. The contract has an effective date of August 30, 1998. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the contract become effective August 16, 1998, on less than statutory notice (LSN). This contract is for the TMRHA requests for the installation of a 2-inch meter vault to serve the Homeowner's Association members. This contract coincides with provision of water service to a new customer class. This customer class consists of a 2-inch master meter selling water to the TMRHA for several individual customers behind the master meter. The rate has previously been established in Docket UW-980970. That rate is equal to other residential customers except the monthly base amount reflects a discount for master meter reading and billing to TMRHA. The contract calls for the water company to install a 2-inch meter vault that will be used only to serve the TMRHA. The installation cost of the vault assembly will be partially paid for by TMRHA. The cost to TMRHA will be $5,110. The water company is requesting LSN treatment to coincide with the company's billing schedule and to start water service to TMRHA as quickly as possible. Since the contract filed herein appears fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of August 16, 1998. FINDINGS After careful examination of the contract filed herein by Mirrormont Services, Inc., July 31, 1998, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the contract should become effective August 16, 1998. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the contract filed herein by Mirrormont Services, Inc., July 31, 1998, is hereby granted, and said contract revisions shall become effective August 16, 1998. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 12th day of August, 1998. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION CAROLE J. WASHBURN Secretary
