DOCKET UW-980970 Page 1 BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested ) Waiver of Statutory Notice in ) DOCKET UW-980970 Connection with the Tariff ) Revisions Filed by ) ORDER GRANTING LESS Mirrormont Services, Inc. ) THAN STATUTORY NOTICE ) On July 16, 1998, Mirrormont Services, Inc., filed with the Commission revisions to its currently effective Tariff WN U-1. The tariff sheets effected are designated as: Second Revision of Sheet No. 2, canceling First Revision of Sheet No. 2 and Original Sheet 23. The tariff sheets bear an inserted effective date of August 16, 1998. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revisions become effective August 1, 1998, on less than statutory notice (LSN). This filing introduces a new customer class. This customer class consists of a 2-inch master meter selling water to a Home Owner's Association (HOA) for several individual customers behind the master meter. The rate is equal to other residential customers except the monthly base amount reflects a discount for master meter reading and billing to the HOA. The water company is requesting LSN treatment to coincide with the company's billing schedule and to start water service to the HOA as quickly as possible. Since the tariff revisions filed herein appear fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of August 1, 1998. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revisions filed herein by Mirrormont Services, Inc., July 16, 1998, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revisions should become effective August 1, 1998. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revisions filed herein by Mirrormont Services, Inc., July 16, 1998, is hereby granted, and said tariff revisions shall become effective August 1, 1998. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 31st day of July, 1998. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION CAROLE J. WASHBURN Secretary
