On April 21, 1998, Teleconnect Long Distance Services and Systems Company d/b/a Telecom*USA Long Distance Company (Telecom*USA) filed with the Commission revisions to its Tariff WN U-1. The purpose of this filing is to add a monthly minimum usage fee to the SMARTminutes for Business service plan. Customers of this plan will be assessed a $5.00 fee per account if the customer's total monthly usage is below $5.00. The tariff sheets bear an inserted effective date of May 21, 1998. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revisions become effective May 1, 1998. The reason for requesting less than statuatory notice is to implement the minimum monthly usage fee nation wide. Since the tariff revisions filed herein are fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of May 1, 1998. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revisions filed herein by Telecom*USA on April 21, 1998, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revisions should become effective May 1, 1998. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revisions filed herein by Teleconnect Long Distance Services and Systems Company d/b/a Telecom*USA Long Distance Company on April 21, 1998, is hereby granted, and said tariff revisions shall become effective May 1, 1998. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 29th day of April, 1998. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION PAUL CURL, Acting Secretary
