DOCKET UG-980439 Page 1 BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested ) Waiver of Statutory Notice in ) DOCKET UG-980439 Connection with the Tariff ) Revisions Filed by ) ORDER GRANTING LESS ) THAN STATUTORY NOTICE PUGET SOUND ENERGY. ) ) On March 18, 1998, Puget Sound Energy filed with the Commission under its Advice No. 98015 revisions to its currently effective Tariff WN U-2, designated as: Second Revision Sheet No. 2-C Original Sheet No. 40 Original Sheet No. 40-A Original Sheet No. 40-B Original Sheet No. 40-C Sixteenth Revision Sheet No. 1101 Seventy-Second Revision Sheet No. 1102 The tariff sheets bear an inserted effective date of April 18, 1998. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revisions become effective April 1, 1998. The purpose for this filing is to restate gas cost rates for the expected cost of gas for the coming year. The reason for requesting LSN is to implement the revised rate changes on the same date (April 1, 1998) as intended in the original withdrawn filing. Since the tariff revisions filed herein are fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of April 1, 1998. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revisions filed herein by Puget Sound Energy, March 18, 1998, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revisions should become effective April 1, 1998. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revisions filed herein by Puget Sound Energy, March 18, 1998, is hereby granted, and said tariff revisions shall become effective April 1, 1998. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 25th day of March, 1998. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION ANNE LEVINSON, Chair RICHARD HEMSTAD, Commissioner WILLIAM R.
