DOCKET UT-980428 Page 1 BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested ) Waiver of Statutory Notice in ) DOCKET UT-980428 Connection with the Tariff ) Revision Filed by ) ORDER GRANTING U S WEST COMMUNICATIONS, INC. ) LESS THAN ...................................) STATUTORY NOTICE On March 18, 1998, U S WEST Communications, Inc., filed with the Commission under its Advice No. 2940T, a revision to its currently effective Tariff WN U-31, designated as 4th Revised Sheet 11. The tariff sheet bears an inserted effective date of April 17, 1998. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that the statutory notice be waived and that the revision becomes effective March 26, 1998. The reason for requesting LSN is to offer a promotion to customers in the Pasco exchange which was inadvertently omitted from a previously offered promotion. Since the tariff revision filed therein is fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of March 26, 1998. FINDINGS THE COMMISSION FINDS: After careful examination of the tariff revision filed herein by U S WEST Communications, Inc., March 18, 1998, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revision should become effective March 26, 1998. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revision filed herein by U S WEST Communications, Inc., March 18, 1998, is hereby granted, and said tariff revision shall become effective March 26, 1998. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 25th day of March, 1998. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION PAUL CURL, Acting Secretary
