Under this promotion, new business subscribers will receive a waiver of the nonrecurring charge when they purchase the Caller ID-Name and Number feature as a stand-alone feature or as part of one of the following packages: Call Manager Connection, Start Up Business Package, or Growing Connections Package. WAC 480-80-330 requires thirty days notice prior to the effective date from the date filed. The company requests, however, that such notice be waived and that the tariff become effective January 1, 1997. The tariff filing is for Caller ID-Name and Number Service for a 45-day promotional period. USWC requests waiver of the required notice date so that the targeted effective date of January 1, 1997, can be achieved. Since the tariff filed herein is fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of January 1, 1997. FINDINGS After careful examination of the promotional tariff filed herein by U S WEST Communications, Inc., on December 12, 1997, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff should become effective on January 1, 1997. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS that the requested waiver of required notice in connection with the promotional tariff filed herein by U S WEST Communications, Inc., on December 12, 1997, is hereby granted, and said tariff shall become effective on January 1, 1997. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 31st day of December, 1997. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION PAUL CURL Acting Secretary
