  On October 16, 1997, Rainier View Water Co., Inc. (Rainier View) filed with 
the Commission revisions to its currently effective Tariff WN U-2, designated 
as:

  Eight Revised Sheet No. 2 Canceling Seventh Revised Sheet No. 2;
  Seventh Revised Sheet No. 20 Canceling Sixth Revised Sheet No. 20;
  Fifth Revised Sheet No. 32 Canceling Fourth Revised Sheet No. 32; and
  Original Sheet No. 32.1.

  The tariff sheets bear an inserted effective date of November 16, 1997.  This 
date recognizes statutory notice as required.  The company requests, however, 
that statutory notice be waived and that the revisions become effective 
October 31, 1997.

  This filing is made to implement rate changes previously noticed to customers 
in Docket UW-961070, Sale and Transfer of assets of Sound Water Company, Inc., 
(Sound Water) to Rainier View Water Co., Inc.  This filing is to incorporate 
the Sound Water customer rates into the Rainier View tariff.  As a result of 
this filing, Sound Water customers who are flat rated will see no change in 
rates.  Sound Water metered customers will see a decrease in monthly bills if 
they consume less than 2,000 cubic feet per month.  If consumption exceeds 
2,000 cubic feet per month customer will see an increase in monthly bills.

  Rainier View is seeking Less Than Statutory (LSN) notice treatment to 
coincide with the company's billing cycle. LSN treatment will allow 
implementation of Rainier View's rates as soon as practical after the sale and 
transfer of assets.

  Since the tariff revisions filed herein are fair, just and reasonable, and 
waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is 
deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with 
an effective date of October 31, 1997.

FINDINGS

  After careful examination of the tariff revisions filed herein by Rainier 
View Water Co., Inc., October 16, 1997, and giving consideration to all 
relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff 
revisions should become effective October 31, 1997.

O R D E R

  THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice 
in connection with the tariff revisions filed herein by Rainier View Water Co., 
Inc., October 16, 1997, is hereby granted, and said tariff revisions shall 
become effective October 31, 1997.
