  On September 30, 1997, Puget Sound Energy filed with the Commission under its 
Advice No. 97020 a revision to its currently effective Tariff WN U-60, 
designated as Electric Tariff G Schedule 81.

  The tariff sheet bears an inserted effective date of October 31, 1997.  This 
date recognizes statutory notice as required.  The company requests, however, 
that statutory notice be waived and that the revision become effective October 
8, 1997.

  This filing is made to Schedule 81 (Municipal Tax Adjustment) implementing 
the City of Fife tax rate of 4.5%.  On August 26, 1997, the Company filed (in 
Docket No. UE-971320) a tax rate for the City of Fife of 6% that was is error.  
The filing error occurred because it was based on an Ordinance by the City that 
had been superseded.  The current filing (Docket No. UE-971463) is based on the 
correct ordinance.

  Because the proposed revision reflects a decrease in tax liability, the 
Company respectfully requested waiver of the statutory 30 day notice period and 
an order making the effective date October 8, 1997.

  Since the tariff revision filed herein is fair, just and reasonable, and 
waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is 
deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with 
an effective date of October 8, 1997.

FINDINGS

  After careful examination of the tariff revision filed herein by Puget Sound 
Energy, September 30, 1997, and giving consideration to all relevant matters 
and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revision should 
become effective October 8, 1997.


O R D E R

  THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice 
in connection with the tariff revision filed herein by Puget Sound Energy, 
September 30, 1997, is hereby granted, and said tariff revision shall become 
effective October 8, 1997.
