DOCKET UT-971042 Page 1 BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of the Requested ) Waiver of Statutory Notice in ) DOCKET UT-971042 Connection with the Tariff ) Revisions filed by ) ORDER GRANTING LESS GTE Northwest Incorporated. ) THAN STATUTORY NOTICE ) On June 19, 1997, GTE Northwest Incorporated (GTE-NW) filed with the Commission under its Advice No. 811 revisions to its currently effective Tariff WN U-17, designated as: 1st Revised Sheet 39 2nd Revised Sheet 40 1st Revised Sheet 42 2nd Revised Sheet 43 2nd Revised Sheet 45 1st Revised Sheet 46 2nd Revised Sheet 47 The tariff sheets bear an inserted effective date of July 21, 1997. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revisions become effective June 26, 1997. The purpose of this filing is to combine the Network Access Service Fee of $0.25 per line per month with the applicable monthly Network Access Line rates; and to eliminate the outdated surcharge and associated tariff language. The reason for requesting LSN is to “clean up” the tariff concurrently with the company’s toll restructuring filing, in Docket UT-970598, which is also effective June 26, 1997. Since the tariff revisions filed herein are fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of June 26, 1997. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revisions filed herein by GTE Northwest Incorporated, June 19, 1997, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revisions should become effective June 26, 1997. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revisions filed herein by GTE Northwest Incorporated, June 19, 1997, is hereby granted, and said tariff revisions shall become effective June 26, 1997. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 25th day of June, 1997. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION SHARON L. NELSON, Chairman RICHARD HEMSTAD, Commissioner WILLIAM R.
