NOTICE On March 31, 1997, Kalama Telephone Company filed with the Commission a revision to its currently effective Tariff WN U-1, designated as: Sixth Revision of Sheet No. 22 The tariff sheet bears an inserted effective date of May 1, 1997. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived and that the revision become effective April 15, 1997. The purpose of the filing is to comply with require- ments of the Federal Communications Commis-sion (FCC), as set forth in its Report and Order, adopted and released September 20, 1996, and Order on Reconsideration, adopted and released November 8, 1996, in CC Docket Nos. 96-128 and 91-35. The reason for requesting less than statutory notice is in order to meet the required timeline prescribed by the FCC. Since the tariff revisions filed herein are fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsis- tent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of April 15, 1997. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revision filed herein by Kalama Telephone Company, March 28, 1997, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revision should become effective April 15, 1997. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revi-sion filed herein by Kalama Telephone Company, March 28, 1997, is hereby granted, and said tariff revision shall become effective April 15, 1997. DATED at Olympia, Washington, and effective this 9th day of April, 1997. WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION STEVE McLELLAN, Secretary
