UT-970568 Connection with the Tariff ) Revision Filed by ) ORDER GRANTING LESS U S WEST Communications, Inc. ) THAN STATUTORY NOTICE ) On March 28, 1997, U S WEST Communications, Inc., filed with the Commission under its Advice No. 2848T a revision to its currently effective Tariff WN U-31, designated as the 7th Revised Sheet No. 4 - Section 16. The tariff sheet bears an inserted effective date of April 29, 1997. This date recognizes statutory notice as required. The company requests, however, that statutory notice be waived, and that the revision become effective April 11, 1997. The purpose of this filing is to offer a promotional program for the Company's new Centrex 21 Service. The Company requests an effective date which is on less than statutory notice in order to promote this new service during the first few weeks of its introduction. Since the tariff revision filed herein is fair, just and reasonable, and waiver of statutory notice is not inconsistent with the public interest, it is deemed appropriate that the company be granted the waiver it is requesting with an effective date of April 11, 1997. FINDINGS After careful examination of the tariff revision filed herein by U S WEST Communications, Inc., on March 28, 1997, and giving consideration to all relevant matters and for good cause shown, the Commission finds that the tariff revision should become effective April 11, 1997. O R D E R THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS that the requested waiver of statutory notice in connection with the tariff revision filed herein by U S WEST Communications, Inc., on March 28, 1997, is hereby granted, and said tariff revision shall become effective April 11, 1997.
