  On May 13, 1996, Telephone Utilities of Washington, Inc., d/b/a PTI 
Communications filed with the Commission under its Advice No. 96-8, revisions 
to its currently effective Tariff WN U-1, designated as Fourth Revised Sheet 
No. 1.5.5.

  It appearing that the filing herein would increase rates for 
telecommunications service rendered by respondent and that the rights and 
interest of the public might be injuriously affected thereby, the Commission, 
on May 22, 1996, entered a Complaint and Order Suspending Tariff Revisions.

  The Commission had received a letter dated March 3, 1997, whereby respondent 
requested extension in the statutory suspension period until December 31, 1997.

  The Commission is now in receipt of a letter dated November 6, 1997, whereby 
respondent requests that the tariff revisions filed in this docket be 
withdrawn.  Since this filing was a companion filing to Docket UT-960507 (which 
has recently been withdrawn by GTE Northwest Incorporated) it is consistent to 
allow withdrawal in this case.

  From all indications, it appears to be in the public interest to accommodate 
the request and to concurrently dismiss the Complaint and Order Suspending 
Tariff Revisions.


O R D E R

  THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS That the tariff revisions, filed in this 
docket UT-960635, shall be and the same are hereby withdrawn, and that the 
Complaint and Order Suspending Tariff Revisions in this docket dated May 22, 
1996, shall be and the same is hereby dismissed.
