BEFORE THE WASHINGTON UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION In the Matter of Approving the Telecommunications Relay Service Exise Tax ) ) ) ) ) DOCKET UT-010236 FIRST SUPPLEMENTAL ORDER DETERMINING THE TRS EXCISE TAX RATE BACKGROUND The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, by order dated March 14, 2001, determined that the amount of the Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS) excise tax should be reduced from the current rate of fifteen cents ($0.15) to fourteen cents ($0.14). The order was served on local exchange companies, as required by RCW 43.20A.725. The supplemental order is issued to clarify the effective date of the rate change, which was inadvertently left out of the original order. ORDER IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that each local exchange company shall collect the Telecommunications Relay Service excise tax in the amount of fourteen cents ($0.14) per switched access line per month.
